The Safest Workplace™ Rating is a distinguished certification awarded by World Safety Forum UK (WSF) to recognize organizations that exemplify excellence in employee safety, environmental health, and sustainable practices. This certification helps promote workplaces that not only comply with regulations but also go beyond minimum standards to create a proactively safe, supportive, and ethically governed environment.
Methodology & Evaluation Framework
To determine the UK’s Safest Workplaces™ 2025 (every year), WSF UK evaluates detailed, confidential survey feedback shared by employees across organizations. Each organization is assessed using a 360° safety and ESG perception audit, which includes both quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback.
Employees respond to a comprehensive set of 60+ questions, describing:
-
How safe they feel in their day-to-day operations
-
How their organization supports mental health and wellbeing
-
Accessibility and responsiveness of internal safety leadership
-
ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) alignment
-
Fair and ethical conduct across all levels
-
Emergency preparedness and employee training practices
85% of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their safety and wellbeing experiences across hierarchies and departments. The remaining 15% is based on management practices, leadership accountability, past incident records, and industry benchmarking.
WSF ensures accuracy by verifying anomalies in feedback, reviewing sustainability disclosures, safety audits, and relevant public data.
